Renting Portable Toilets for a Fort Worth Event? Read This First
Fort Worth is one of the few Texas cities with a portable toilet rule written into its outdoor events ordinance. The City’s Public Events Department requires an Outdoor Events permit for any outdoor gathering, on public or private property, that draws more than 500 attendees, closes a street, sells food or drinks, or uses tents, stages, bleachers, fireworks, open flames or portable toilets. The Office of Outdoor Events charges a flat $300 permit fee, and First Amendment events are exempt.
If your permitted event includes portable restrooms, Section 20-422 of the Fort Worth City Code adds two requirements. Your site plan has to show the exact spot where each restroom will sit and the time it will be removed. If units end up somewhere other than the site plan shows, the City can order them moved within four hours. Restrooms left after the scheduled removal time can bring penalties. Events held entirely on private property are exempt from these placement rules, as long as the restrooms don’t affect neighboring owners or tenants.
When you request a quote, tell us your event footprint and your permitted setup and teardown times. We’ll plan delivery and pickup around the schedule on your permit. For permit questions, the Office of Outdoor Events can be reached at 817-392-7894 or specialevents@fortworthtexas.gov.
